PMT Deploys Digisoft’s IPTV Service Delivery Platform for Delivery of Next Generation Personalized IP Video Services across Russia.

Cork, Ireland and Moscow, Russia, 18 December 2009, Digisoft.tv Ltd, a leading global provider of carrier class solutions to the IPTV and media entertainment markets, has announced that Personal Media Technology (PMT) has selected its DigiHost IPTV Service Delivery Platform and Java Based Middleware for the delivery of Next Generation Personalized IP Video Services across the Russian Market. In addition, Digisoft has been appointed program manager, managing an eco system of industry leading vendors to deliver a complete end to end solution for PMT.

Personal Media Technologies, a division of Sigmalink Investments Ltd., was established in 2007 in order to implement an ambitious media-project involving the development of a personalized video service called OViVO. The OViVO platform will give customers in major urban areas in the Russian Federation instant subscription free access to thousands of hours of on-demand SD and HD television shows and movies using an IP set-top-box in the home.

Video content will be delivered to customers over an intelligent, customer-aware content delivery IP network and stored within in-home set top boxes. Using a TV-based user interface, customers can browse, select, and play stored video content or launch applications.

The solution includes a fully integrated video recommendation engine which enables OViVO to generate customized playlists for each end-user based on their viewing habits and demographics. Additionally, it will allow advertisers to deliver personalized advertising to a targeted audience.
