DigiBenchmark is an ideal tool to compare the performance and capabilities of OCAP Set Top Boxes, Middleware and Broadcast Systems from various vendors, or of progressive product releases of the same vendor. While OCAP defines standards for middleware, not all middleware is created equal. DigiBenchmark measures and reports on middleware performance. The file handling and efficiency of resource utilization are crucial elements in diagnosing middleware and application performance. As the number of applications and hardware platforms increase, it is important to monitor how they perform across the various middlewares or even compare various releases of the same middleware vendor.

Reporting

DigiBenchmark test results can be reported in a variety of formats. Results can be displayed to the screen directly from the application to provide immediate feedback on the test performed. These results can also be written to the log file available on many manufacturer’s set tops for viewing later. When combined with the DigiHost server the power of DigiBenchmark can be fully utilized. Reports can be generated to illustrate the effect of changing variables. Summary reports can also be run to show how one technology compares with sum of all others.

DigiBenchmark User Group

The DigiBenchmark User Group has been established to provide a mechanism for OCAP solution providers to gain access to and continually improve OCAP benchmarking. Members gain access to information regarding the performance of their technology and summary data for the group as whole. Access is available 24 hours a day through a secure login and members receive periodic updates to the DigiBenchmark application.
