Cork, Ireland – Digisoft.tv has announced the release and general availability of a disruptive new casting solution, Playmigo. This new SAAS and technology platform enables OTT video providers to cast their content to almost any connected TV device on the market today without the need to develop and deploy TV apps.
With television experience quickly transitioning into both 4K and HDR, it’s fair to say that video content is well and truly at home on the big screen. However, this new opportunity also introduces challenges for brands that are trying to plan the optimal roadmap strategy for TV platform investment.

Trade Mission to Middle East & Gulf States

Digisoft.tv are one of several companies from Ireland to accompany An Taoiseach Enda Kenny and Minister Richard Bruton T.D. who led a Trade and Investment Mission to Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states of Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. The Trade Mission commenced in KSA on January 5th, while moving to Qatar for January 7th, Abu Dhabi on January 8th, finishing in Dubai on January 9th. This Trade Mission provides an ideal opportunity for Irish companies with existing partners in the region to bolster these relationships and also facilitates companies who are considering these markets to gain access to accelerated and high level business networks. Digisoft.tv today announced that it has brought Sammy’s Science House, part of Edmark’s award-winning House Series, into the growing world of Smart TV education apps it is available through Samsung Apps TV stores.

Congratulations to Vodafone New Zealand on their IPTV launch

Vodafone is launching consumer UFB plans in parts of Whangarei, Auckland, Palmerston North, Wellington and Dunedin (all bar Whangarei are covered by Chorus). Christchurch and other areas will follow over the next few months.

The carrier has matched the $75 price-point set by other ISPs for their cheapest plans. Unlike Telecom, a voice-over-fibre service is included (meaning there’s no need to hold onto a copper line). Vodafone also offering a naked fibre service – that is, without a voice line (see all the plans here). Read more
